This is a very busy but enjoyable time of the year in the school. There is a lot planned in the school and I have attached a copy of our Christmas Calendar overleaf so that you too can plan a visit to us to enjoy the Christmas spirit with your son.
I’m delighted to tell you that Violin lessons, 4th to 6th class, will return on Tuesday. Ms. Morrissey will be teaching the boys violin this year and I know that they will really enjoy it.
Please come along to our Christmas Fayre on Thursday 7th December in the School Hall (7pm-9pm) for an evening of crafts/cakes and festive fun.
On Monday 4th December, 4th – 6th Class will go to mass at 10am in St. Patrick’s Church.
On Thursday 14th – Carol Service in St. Ita’s Church @ 7pm . Classes from 2nd-6th will perform. All families are very welcome to join us for this special event.
Following on from the success of our “St. Vincent de Paul Smartie Appeal” last year , when we collected €660; we are running this appeal again. Thank you to our kind sponsor, Tesco Ireland, who has generously donated a tube of Smarties for every child in the school.
Your son will be given a full tube of Smarties to enjoy. When finished your son will do some little jobs about the house and fill the Smartie tubes with 20c coins for all his efforts. Each tube when filled with 20c coins will come to €5. All monies from this appeal will go to our local branch of St. Vincent de Paul to support local families in our community.
We will hold our Annual Christmas Raffle, with some great prizes (thank you to our parents who have generously donated prizes for this raffle).
A lot of work is going into preparing our junior classes for our much loved “Christmas Plays”. I am really looking forward to seeing their performances and invite you to join us on Wednesday 20th December (see overleaf).
A very special visitor will visit the infant classes on Thursday 21st December.
A Christmas Assembly (2nd- 6th Class) will take place in the hall & Christmas Raffle.
Friday 22nd December School finishes at 12 noon for Christmas Holidays.
I look forward to welcoming you all to the school over the coming weeks.
