Our STEM lessons provide an enriching and exciting learning experience for the boys to enjoy. STEM offers us the opportunity to bring real-life problems into the classroom and invite children to find solutions while also developing their scientific, technology, engineering and mathematical skills.

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

STEM lessons combine concepts and skills from each of these areas to solve the one challenge.

  • Children can develop key scientific skills such as investigating, planning, experimenting, and reviewing through these challenges.

  • Technology has become such a huge part of our everyday lives. STEM lessons inspire children to think outside the box and question how the use of technology could enhance their projects.

  • The engineering aspect of STEM invites children to experience the various types of engineering, from structural engineering (which the boys are doing today) to software engineering (coding).

  • Maths is also a crucial aspect of STEM lessons, from counting and estimating to measuring and problem-solving. These lessons are also designed to teach coding terminology to support the boys in developing their coding skills.

Science Week

Science Week is always an important event in our school calendar! Every year we host a week of exciting science activities including the Science Dome and our annual Science Fair. Our Science Fair is always an exciting event and provides the boys with the opportunity to share their fantastic work with other local schools and colleges.

Maths Week

Maths Week is always a fun week here in St. Pat’s! We provide the boys with opportunities to explore different areas of maths through fun and exciting activities. Our local maths trail is always highly anticipated by the boys.
