It was a rainy day and the boys of St. Pat’s walked down to Ballymastone to get ready for the game vs Lusk NS. It would be a hard game as Lusk had qualified for the FAI 5-a side final, and Hayden and Saarish were unavailable. As the team warmed up the support was gathering. Lusk NS arrived 15 minutes before kick off. As the game kicked off, we started strong but were quickly down a goal. Later on in the game we were getting good chances but went down another goal. The first half ended 3-0, as Ms Flanagan gave the team a special team talk with some inspirational jellies. As the second half kicked off we sadly went down 3 more goals, until Javi swung in a cross, hit off the crossbar and Fionn headed it into the open goal giving us a goal back. Unfortunately it didn’t matter much as Lusk would go on to score 2 more making the final score 8-1 Lusk. Lusk’s 14 shots on target made Niko do some work saving half of them. While St. Pat’s only shot on target was Fionn’s header. St. Pat’s’ next game is in the cup at Holy Family SNS on Thursday. See you then.
